The Special Adviser, Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Ken Achabo Atam has assured the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) of a harmonious working relationship to ensure effective Basic Education delivery in the State.
A report made available to TheSKY Newspaper by the SUBEB Head of Information and Protocol, Erdoo Sar explained that this declaration was made today when the Executive Chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, Comrade Utse Joseph and his management Team paid a familiarization visit to the new Special Adviser.
In an address, the SUBEB Executive Chairman, Comrade Utse appreciated the Executive Governor, Samuel Ortom for appointing a vibrant young man to pilot affairs of the bureau. He was optimistic that Barr. Achabo will use his wealth of experience to clear administrative bottle necks concerning Teachers’ salaries to ensure they are paid promptly. He urged him to remain focused and promised to always give his support when necessary.
In his response, the Special Adviser, Barr. Ken Achabo appreciated the SUBEB Team led by the Executive Chairman for identifying with him. He further stated that the delay in release of Teachers salaries for the month of September was as a result of remittance from local Government Council Chairmen and the Banks and promised to ensure that the welfare of key players in the sector including Basic Education be placed on front charge. He promised to remain open to wise and constructive counsel.
The Permanent Secretary of the Bureau, Mr. Elvis Attah in a vote of thanks, appreciated the Board for their visit and sued for its sustained support to enable the Bureau function optimally.
Highlight of the visit was presentation of souvenir to the SUBEB Executive Chairman by the Special Adviser.
