The Executive Chairman, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue state, Hon. Anthony Dyegeh today at the Council Secretariat swore in the Executive Secretary, Dr Alex Iorahungwa alongside 6 Supervisory Councillors and 3 Advisers with a charge on them to use their wealth of experience to turn around the viability of the departments they have been assigned to.
Hon. Dyegeh promised on behalf of his Deputy and the Legislative Council not to disapoint the people of Makurdi Local on the confidence reposed in them to deliver on their mandate. He appreciated Governor Samuel Ortom, the stakeholders of Makurdi LG, the PDP Caucus and people of the Local Government in general for supporting their candidature and voting them to represent into office
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated Council members, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Alex Iorahungwa expressed profound gratitude to the people of Makurdi Local Government for finding them worthy to represent the people and pledged their true allegiance and unalloyed loyalty to them.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the swearing in ceremony, the Council Secretary, Dr Iorahungwa said as an experienced Administrator, he will bring his wealth of experience to bear on Makurdi Local Government administration which is now under the leadership of Hon. Anthony Dyegeh. He promised to contribute his quota immensely to the development of the local government, noting that he was not appointed for his “personal aggrandizement “.
In a separate interview, the Supervisory Council for Works and Housing, Hon. Vanen Gberindyer thanked the wife of the Governor, Dr Mrs Eunice Ortom for finding her worthy to serve in that capacity, saying the honour was not done for her alone but the entire people of Sankera and Ipusu as a whole.
Wan Gberindyer (the metropolitan supervisor) also appreciated Hon. Barr Ambrose Ikpa for recommending her for the appointment and called on her political opponents to sheath their swords and cooperate with her for the development of Makurdi Local Government.
On his part, Hon. Nichodemus Aondowase Azer, the Supervisory Councilor for Special duties pledged total loyalty to his principal, Hon. Dyegeh and the entire Makurdi Local Government Council.
Adzer solicited unflinching support from people of the Local Government to enable him excel in his new mandate.
