NAGAFF Assists Freight Forwarders, Combats Corruption

National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF, has been working assiduously to assist, train and guide freight forwarders and importers. The association also fights corruption in collaboration with the security agencies.

Chief of staff to the coordinator, Fwdr Bert Okeke made this known in an interview with newsmen in Lagos. He intimated them on 100% compliance team, saying the team was set up to guide the freight forwarders do the right thing and to help the importers understand that freight forwarders are not fraudsters. He also clarified that all the chapters under NAGAFF are to join the 100% compliance team.

The Chief of staff disclosed that NAGAFF was founded by Dr Chief Boniface Aniegbunam in the year 1999 with the aim of solving problems bordering on Freight forwarders, Importers and Customs.

“The Executives came together to make a team called 100% compliance team. The team called 100% compliance team is created to help the freight forwarders, the importers and also the customs to solve issues but mostly the freight forwarder which is coordinated by Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko.

“The training which was held on 17th-21st August was meant to educate the freight forwarders and train them on how to communicate and cooperate with other stakeholders.
“The platform NAGAFF is an association which has helped so many freight forwarders both in government and the importers.

“The 100% compliance team is set to fight corruption in essence to see that all impendments are limited. The team which is in alliance with the Security agencies which the government is aware of its existence, is aimed at impacting, sensitizing and general existence”,  Okeke explained.

He expressed optimism that in the next few weeks, a lot of achievements would be recorded in different zones of the country.

Fwdr Okeke appreciated the founder, Chief Boniface Aniegbunam, describing him as a trail blazer and a beacon having elevated many freight forwarders using NAGAFF. According to Okeke, the Association is poised to leave so many legacies for the young ones and to create employment opportunities for them in the field as a freight forwarders. He assured that all the available resources will be used to bring about orderliness in the  association

He also advised the public to support NAGAFF and see all freight forwarders as members of a legitimate agency.
