Eligible voters in Ondo State will today, October 10, 2020, be going to the voting centers across the 18 local government areas in the state to elect their governor for the next four years.
In August, the Independent National Electoral Commission has published 17 candidates for the governorship election, their running mates with their political parties.
However, political analysts believe that the battle is between the All Progressive Congress, APC, incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, and the candidate if the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Eyitayo Jegede, and the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Agboola Ajayi.
Mr. Ajayi is the incumbent Deputy Governor and former member of the ruling APC. He is battling with his boss for the number one position.
There have been several reports of killings and violence with a constant clash between the APC and PDP supporters.
Follow this trend for updates of results and incidents from different voting centers across the state.
