Governor Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun) was today represented by his Deputy Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Muhammed at the distribution ceremony of fourteen brand new motorcycles and twenty eight laptop computers provided by the Federal Government for the conduct of of polio eradication exercise in the country.
Organized by the State Ministry of Health under Primary Health Care Development Agency, the occasion was championed by the Deputy Governor at the premises of the State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency at Samuru area, Gusau.
Each of the fourteen Local Government Sole Administrators recieved one motorcycle and a laptop computer system for their respective routine immunization officers (IRO’S).
Presenting the items to them, the Deputy Governor called on the Sole Administrators to ensure proper monitoring and usage of the properties strictly for the intended purpose only.
Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Muhammed, who doubled as the State Chairman on polio and routine immunization, commended the federal government for its continuous support in the areas of polio eradication and other diseases.
According to him, Zamfara State Government would continue to support any Federal government agency or foreign partners willing to engage the State government in areas of health care service delivery and other sectors.
Earlier in his remarks, the State Commissioner of Health Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Kanoma thanked the Deputy Governor for honoring the invitation and made the event a colorful one.
In attendance were all fourteen Local Government Sole Administrators, all Directors of Health, all parastatals under the State Ministry of Health, Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Comrade Sani Halliru, among many others.
