The First Lady of Zamfara State Hajiya Balkisu Bello-Matawalle has donated three vehicles to People’s Democratic Party youths foundations and appointment letters to 16 unemployed youths and women.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Gusau on Thursday, Hajiya Balkisu Bello-Matawalle said the gesture is to reward the youths and women who participated in Governor Matawalle’s campaigns at the 2019 general elections.
The beneficiaries comprised members of Saraki Boys, H/E Saraki Foundation and Saraki Foundation from Maradun LGA.
Other beneficiaries include 16 youths and women who received appointment letters of Special Assistants and Senior of Special Assistants to Governor Bello Matawalle.
The First Lady who represented by the Hajiya Jummai wife of Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, said the gesture is inline with the state government’s policy in unemployment and poverty.
Speaking during the occasion the State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani commended the Governor’s Wife for supporting youths and women in the state.
“The PDP leadership in the state is aware your various programmes to empower women.
He said the present administration led by Governor Bello Matawalle’s promote youths empowerment and employment generation”, Danfulani said.
He called on the beneficiaries to make sure proper used of the the vehicles and appointments given to them to help PDP supporters at the grassroots.
The PDP women leader Zonal Vice Chairman, Zamfara West, Hajiya Aisha Maradun described the gesture as a welcome development.
She commended Governor Bello Matawalle for initiating women empowerment of 20,000 cash programme every month across the state is a great achievement, and other empowerment programmes in the state.
She expressed optimism that the programmes would help in reducing poverty and unemployment among women and youth in the state especially at grassroots.
