Zamfara state ministry of finance collaboration with Budget and economic planning have organized 2day seminar to the government officials in the state.
The aim of the seminar is to shed more lights to the participants on how to use International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) programs in their respective offices, to avoid misappropriation of public funds.
In an interview with special adviser to governor Bello Muhammed Matawalle on Humanitarian disaster management and social development, Hajiya Fa’ika M Ahmad said, Zamfara state government has left behind the system many years ago for the negligence of past administrations.
According to her, now the government under the leadership of Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun would use the system in the state.
She said the system would help the government through accountability and transparency of government funds which will clearly show accounting of all government’s assets.
According to her if the system was implemented in the state the government will receive report on financial records from all ministries, boards, parastatals and agencies, and will reduce unnecessary spending of government’s money, adding that, the system would allowed the government to get more revenue.
“This system if use properly, our government would acquire huge amount of money, and also there is no way people will misappriate government money”. SA concluded.
